In Ireland, you will often hear about Guesthouses, those Irish guesthouses where you can spend a night and enjoy a hearty breakfast in the morning… They are in fact B&Bs that have developed, and have a capacity of reception halfway between a traditional B&B and a hostel… A small glimpse of what awaits you if you pass by the “guesthouse”.

The Guesthouse

Services identical to a traditional B&B

There are several hundred Guesthouses in Ireland. Operating in the same way as the B&B, they include overnight accommodation in their offer, and breakfast is served until 10.30 am.

However, the services are slightly different in terms of equipment. Thus, a guesthouse is generally more spacious, and more adapted to accommodate large numbers of people. There are generally more rooms, and the staff can be larger .

However, this can prevent you from being in direct contact with the owners, unlike B&Bs .

The rates

The rates for booking a room are no different from any other bed and breakfast accommodation. Count approximately 35/40€ per person per night. Toiletries are provided, as well as bed linen and a kettle, so that you can enjoy a good tea or coffee in bed!
