Visit Thoor Ballylee

A museum about Yeats… about Yeats alone.

Did you know that? It is thanks to Thoor Ballylee that we owe William Butler Yeats one of his major works entitled “The Tower”.

The Tower offers a beautiful exhibition, with souvenirs and objects from the writer. A film is even projected there, and will allow you to discover the biography of the poet, but also the history of this Anglo-Norman style tower!

A nice museum, which will perhaps make you discover or rediscover all the greatness of this tortured and passionate writer, who preferred his solitude to the company of his loved ones…
