Close to the Liffey is a very popular building for Dubliners: The O2. Considered the largest concert hall in the capital, since 2008 it has welcomed several thousand people every month, who come to attend concerts and other successful shows.
The O2 building is brand new and since 2008 replaces the old concert hall that was held at the same location (Point Theatre).
With a capacity of more than 14,500 people, this concert hall is one of the largest halls in the whole of Ireland. Comfortable, and equipped with all modern conveniences, The O2 is used to welcome within its walls great names in national and international music.
But the honour of the inauguration of the hall went to U2, who started the very first show of the hall in 2008, to the great pleasure of the Dubliners.
The hall offers a rather eclectic and lively programme, with artists of all styles and nationalities. The price of an average concert can vary from 30 to 80€, and the seats are very comfortable. As for the acoustics, they are pleasant: the bass and treble sound good, thanks to the architecture of the hall itself.
