The Long Walk is undoubtedly one of the most famous corners of Galway! It’s a short walking tour (can be done on foot) along Lough Corrib, with its houses, boats and small harbour. A very pleasant walk, which will show you the symbiosis in which the inhabitants live to the rhythm of the river Corrib .
The Long Walk usually starts in front of the Galway City Museum, a few meters after the Spanish Arch, another very touristic place of the city.
But don’t be fooled by its name: the Long Walk has nothing long to walk! It will take you between 5 and 15 minutes for those who are in a hurry, to cover this small circuit! But it’s worth it!
You will pass in front of a string of houses, all facing the river, with different and colourful facades. This view alone is worth stopping to take a few pictures! It must be said that Lough Corib and its incessant agitation contrasts marvellously with the beauty of its simple little houses.
One of Galway’s must-see spots!
