Make the Sheep’s Head Way

An 88km circuit to be spread over several days

The Sheep’s Head Way is a hiking trail for all levels of walkers. Although some sections are more difficult because of their significant difference in altitude, the whole is rather easy to practice, as long as you are properly equipped.

The circuit winds along the coast between cliffs, beaches and rocks. The path is well laid out, and sometimes even has a few stairs dug into the rock. On your way you will cross the villages of Durrus, Ahakista and Kilcrohane. Enough to make a few stops between 2 walking sessions, before resuming your journey!

Count about 3 to 4 days to complete the circuit. Please note that many B&Bs are scattered all over the Peninsula if you want to stay overnight in comfort instead of camping.
