Seapoint (Rinn na Mara in Gaelic) is a small waterfront located between Blackrock and Monkstown in County Dublin. Beautiful, it offers a really nice view of the sea and Dublin Bay and is very popular for its beaches!
Seapoint is like a gigantic pontoon, which runs along the sea and the beaches of the coast. We mainly like its panorama on Dublin Bay, but also its pontoon, which allows walkers to stroll while admiring the setting. Even better, Seapoint provides access to beautiful sandy beaches, where you can swim on hot August days (otherwise the water is too cold).
At the end, there is a Martello tower, dating from the Napoleonic wars. It was used by the British to keep an eye on the sea and to identify any possible French attack.
Today, the tower is still intact and has become the headquarters of the Genealogical Society of Ireland.
A nice place to enjoy the sea!
