The Nora Barnacle House Museum is a museum entirely dedicated to the Irish writer James Joyce (1882-1941). It retraces the life of the writer step by step, collecting many objects that belonged to him … A rather nice exhibition for lovers of Irish literature!
The museum is located in the former house of Nora Barnacle, the writer’s companion. The couple would have lived there for many years.
This house was converted into a museum in the 1980s, and houses most of the personal objects that belonged to James Joyce. It also displays some of his works in first editions, as well as some of the author’s reported sentences and quotations, and anecdotes from his life.
The visit is friendly and playful, but is nevertheless aimed at an audience already familiar with the writer’s works.
