Moyteogue Head is a rocky promontory adjacent to Keem Strand beach on Achill Island, Ireland. The site has the advantage of overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and offering an incredible view of the surrounding area. The site also has an old watchtower… now in ruins. One of the most beautiful viewpoints on Achill Island!

Visit Moyteogue Head

The highlight of a wild ride!

If you like hiking and breathtaking views, and you don’t mind steep hills, then we suggest you put on your hiking boots and head for Moyteogue Head.

The walk promises beautiful ocean scenery, expanses of almost fluorescent greenery, and absolutely crisp air.

The summit is easily recognizable by its watchtower, which used to be used to monitor the arrival of approaching ships. Once there, there is nothing left to do but to sit on the grass and admire the view. The panorama is simply splendid: the ocean stretches as far as the eye can see, and one has the impression of being alone in the World, away from civilization.

Prefer a day of good weather where the sky is clear: the view will be even more beautiful. Don’t forget the necessary equipment for this hike: water bottle, snacks, windbreaker, sweater, and hiking shoes.

Allow half a day to walk at your own pace.
