Howth Harbour is one of the liveliest places in the village of Howth. It must be said that the village lives mainly from tourism and fishing, to the rhythm of the tides and the comings and goings of the boats! A place with an authentic charm!
Howth Harbour is far from being a gigantic harbour: of a reasonable size, it mainly welcomes pleasure sailing boats, as well as net fishing boats. It is here that fishermen come to unload their cargo and sell their brand new arrivals at the auction!
It must be said that the fish is very fresh, and offered at rather interesting prices!
Don’t miss a walk along the pier: some boats are worth admiring, and boaters and fishermen can sometimes have a rather easy contact with the visitors! Not to mention, of course, the view you can enjoy overlooking Howth Lighthouse.
Not to mention the 3 good restaurants located along the harbour: you will enjoy the Octopussys Seafood Tapas, the Oar House, or the Aqua. On the programme are typical dishes from traditional Irish cuisine, using local fish products!
All you need to prolong the moment with a gastronomic break in front of the sea!
