Visit Hill of Slane

The Slane Friary

The abbey of Slane is nowadays visitable, even if it is in ruins. We recommend you to be careful in your visit, and to avoid touching the walls, or even getting too close to them: the stones can still be shaky!

The architecture is still magnificent, and the setting is exceptional! You will dominate the whole region, and you will even be able to see Tara’s hill in the distance!

Don’t miss his little graveyard either! You will come across carved Celtic crosses and tombs dating back to the 6th century!
