Glenariff Forest Park is a forest park located in County Antrim in Northern Ireland. It is a magnificent park covering 1185 hectares and has become a true HQ for hikers in search of wild and lush nature. There, the forest comes in 50 shades of green, all in a calm only disturbed by birds and animals. A magical place, which will offer you a plunge out of civilization!
Glenariff Forest is full of hiking trails of all levels. There are signposted walks that lead you along specially prepared paths to explore the forest in complete safety.
These paths will lead you to magnificent waterfalls, which you can overlook from the top of wooden railings.
You can also follow the paths along the Inver and Glenariff rivers. These are the most popular trails in the forest.
On the promenade side, you can also admire the lush flora. The trees are often a hundred years old, and you will come across a variety of plant species along the way… Oaks, pines, ferns, mushrooms…The place is magical, as if isolated from the rest of the world.
For the walk, prefer real walking shoes, and have a backpack, with water, sweater and windbreaker. Possibility to picnic on the spot.
