Galway Atlantaquaria is the largest national aquarium in Ireland. With its 170 marine and freshwater species, the site is one of the most touristy places in the region. Seahorses, rays, sharks… you will discover the most beautiful aquatic specimens in the world and even have the opportunity to feed them!
The Galway Atlantaquaria is located on the Salthill Sea Promenade overlooking the Bay of Galway. Rather large, it will allow you to admire and interact with starfish, spiders, crabs, but also octopuses, impressive groupers, or sharks! Note that you will also be able to admire the impressive skeleton of an enormous rorqual whale.
The visit is very playful, and rather well adapted for children. Exhibits, as well as touch-sensitive terminals will inform you about the slightest secrets of these marine species, and guided tours will also allow you to ask your questions to real marine life professionals.
Allow about 1 hour to go around: the aquariums are magnificent, very well maintained, and some species are particularly fascinating!
