The Franciscan Well Brewery is an Irish micro-brewery based in the city of Cork. It specialises in the production of ale, lager and stout beers. Founded in 1998, the brewery is unique in that it is located on the site of a former Franciscan monastery. According to tradition, the water from the monastery’s well has long been known for its beneficial and healing properties!
The Franciscan Well Brewery is a micro-brewery that likes to make beers with original characters. And quality comes first! Thus, the brewery prides itself on brewing its beers as naturally as possible, without using the usual chemical additives and preservatives. A plus, which will allow you to enjoy an “organic” beer that gives priority to the quality of the ingredients!
The brewery offers in its production a range of 5 beers, 3 of which have a German influence, and 2 of Irish type. Lager, ale, stout, wheat beer… You’ll have a wide choice!
Note that the brewery does not yet distribute its beers throughout the country. Nevertheless, you will be able to taste their beer in the Brewpub, an irish pub owned directly by the brewery. The brewery serves all its production there, and has the advantage of being located in Cork itself, close to the production site.
Enjoy the program!
Please note that the brewery is not open to the public.
