Dunguaire Castle is a 16th century castle (County Galway), which holds weekly medieval banquets. Come and taste the medieval specialities of yesteryear, while enjoying an exceptional setting! On the program, fine food, traditional music, medieval games and folklore clothing! A great way to have a great time, and travel through the centuries!
Medieval banquets at the Château de Dunguaire are generally held in the evening, in a festive and friendly atmosphere. You will be greeted by the master of the house with a glass of mead and a visit of the castle. After a brief history of the place, and a musical introduction by the singers of the castle, you will be able to go up the stairs to enter the banqueting room.
Once seated, you will experience a real medieval banquet: oak tables lit by candlelight, a crackling fire, and a tasty 4-course dinner. The meal is hearty and very fine, served according to the rules of the art, with local Irish products. It is accompanied by songs, dances, and readings by great Irish writers, to better penetrate the spirit of the castle.
Everything is gathered to make you spend an unforgettable evening, worthy of the great banquets of the time! An activity that is truly one of our favourites!
Count 40€ per person to attend the banquet (meals and entertainment included). Don’t hesitate to book in advance!
the banquet usually starts around 6:30/7:00 p.m.
