Close to Caherdaniel in Ireland is Derrynane Beach. Very famous in the county of Kerry, one appreciates its fine sand, its transparent water (certainly cold but turquoise), as well as its breathtaking view of the wild Kerry. The place is beautiful, wild, and perfect for a break, or a picnic!
Admittedly, Derrynane Beach is not necessarily the place where you can sunbathe, while complaining about the overwhelming heat of the place. We are in Ireland, and even in the summer, the water is still a bit cold (although there are still plenty of brave swimmers)!
Nevertheless, the beach is ideal for relaxing, taking a breath of fresh sea air, walking barefoot, and picnicking while admiring the rolling waves.
Derrynane Beach has a charm that will make you feel as if you were alone in the world, disconnected from your everyday life. An ideal spot for a nap, a stopover, or simply to enjoy the show!
Bring a towel to sit on, and a cap: in good weather, even if the beach can be windy, the sun is often treacherous!
