Dalkey Castle is a castle built in the 14th century in the heart of Dalkey. It was here that a superb Viking treasure of over 900 gold coins was discovered in 1830. Nowadays, the booty is on display in the British Museum in London.

The visit of the castle is accessible to visitors, and will allow you to walk through the different large rooms of the fortress. You will also be able to attend open-air shows every 30 minutes led by talented entertainers. You will see archers perfectly handle bows and arrows on period targets, knight’s combat, as well as actors interpreting medieval Irish daily life…

You will be able to spy on the castle’s kitchens and their intense activity, or even go to the local barber, cut your hair or your beard the old-fashioned way!
