Bunratty Folk Park is a life-size reconstruction of an Irish village… During your walk, you will discover houses crossing the ages, from the Middle Ages to nowadays… Fully visitable, these houses have period furniture and a typical Irish structure… Don’t miss its downtown, with its school, its post office, and its pub, of course open to visitors… A small village to see absolutely !
Located 20 meters from Bunratty Castle, this park will make you discover 19th century Ireland as you have never seen it before, offering you the chance to visit rustic farmhouses, blacksmith’s shops, schools, picturesque Irish Pubs, and other typical farms.
You can even find a mill, walk through the streets as if you were there, and taste the artisanal products of the time!
This park, open to visitors upon presentation of your Bunratty Castle entrance ticket, offers you total freedom: you can walk as you wish through the landscape, enter the houses, and soak up the atmosphere of the era.
An authentic atmosphere
We particularly appreciate the great sense of detail: you can notice the rusticity of the furniture, as well as the fragrant peat, burning silently in the chimneys. The taste of the bread sold even has an old-fashioned charm that takes us back several centuries!
Allow about two hours for the tour: the complete visit of the castle and its park will be unforgettable.
