Visit the Black Valley

A wild and uninhabited valley

The Black Valley is most often recommended for walkers who want to go deep into the heart of the Irish nature… By taking the Kerry Way, you will then discover an exceptional view of the valley, with its succession of lakes, its steep rocks, and its green expanses of moorland…

The changing light of the day will allow you to admire the ever-changing scenery: the sun reflects beautifully on the surface of the lakes in good weather, while the lakes take on deeper, darker colours in rainy weather.

Don’t hesitate to follow the marked path: it will take you through corners that will make you gain altitude, giving you superb panoramas. On the ascent side, it can be a bit hard to climb, but an enduring walker will be able to cope with it!
