The Barnett Demesne is a lovely wooded park in Belfast, located on the grounds of Malone House. Named after William Barnett, the last owner of the manor, the park is particularly popular with families, joggers and walkers. Known for its very flowery grounds, the place is a true haven of peace despite its proximity to Belfast city centre.
The Barnett Demesne is an ideal place to recharge your batteries and enjoy nature. It consists of an arboretum, a daffodil garden (very impressive when they are in bloom!), marshes, meadows, woods where you can do orienteering races, and games for children.
The area is beautiful, and ideal for a jog, a picnic, a bike ride or a nap in the shade of the trees. The place is so wild, that it is not impossible to come across rabbits, badgers, red squirrels and an impressive number of wild flowers.
Numerous marked trails will allow you to organize nice hikes.
