Need to take a walk in the forest away from the hustle and bustle of the cities? Head for the Ballyseedy Woods, a beautiful forest south of Tralee in County Kerry, Ireland. A small haven of peace that will enchant nature lovers with its paths and the beauty of its trees!
The Ballyseedy Woods has several walking trails, which are fairly easy to walk on. These trails will allow you to make a 4km loop on foot in the woods, with many possible stops to allow you to admire the surroundings.
Add to this the fact that the forest differs from other forests by a small peculiarity of its own: it has many wooden sculptures!
These sculptures will reveal strange creatures, people sitting on a bench… etc. These works are rather nice and bring a 100% Celtic charm to this forest, where fairies and elves do not fail to play a few tricks on their visitors!
Finally, don’t miss the ruins of an old manor house once built in the heart of the forest! Still massive, it stands half upright between the trees, covered with moss. Its show is serious and magnificent!
