What to expect?

County Roscommon is situated in the province of Connacht in the central-west of Ireland. The county is crossed by the River Shannon, and is home to many medieval historic sites. Irish mythology is also present, with the archeological site of Crúachan, where the Connaught rulers, such as King Ailill Mac Máta and his wife Medb, resided.
