It is an easy to prepare speciality, which we often come across in irish pubs, e which puts everyone in agreement! It must be said that everyone falls for crispy chicken wings and its Irish sauce! To test absolutely!

In Ireland, we like simple, friendly and tasty food. And what could be better than enjoying Guinness chicken wings at the pub with friends, a small pint in hand?

In general, each establishment has its own recipe… Secret recipes, as well as recipes known to the general public.

But there is one that everyone agrees on: Guinness chicken wings! It must be said that this Irish beer is a clever mix of bitterness and caramel.

Perfect to obtain a sweet and enveloping sauce, capable of polishing the food. The result is a crispy grilled chicken, covered with a sweet and sour sauce that is absolutely delicious. You can then enjoy these little pieces of chicken with your fingers, while spicing up a few fries from time to time.

Here, no fuss: we simply enjoy ourselves, in a convivial way.

Count less than 10€ the dish in general in irish pubs proposing them à la carte. They have the advantage of being served very quickly: there is little waiting time, for maximum pleasure.

They are usually eaten as tapas or as a dish in their own right. Don’t hesitate to order some: it’s a great classic in Irish pubs and it’s a real treat!

Recipe for Guinness chicken wings

Ingredients

  • 2kgs of chicken wings
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 4 glasses of Guinness
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 cloves
  • thyme
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • oil

Preparation

  • Mince the onion and garlic, and fry them in a little oil in a large pan.
    Once cooked, set aside.
  • Add the chicken wings to the pan and brown them on each side.
  • Then add the onion and garlic already cooked.
  • Add the chopped carrot, 1 teaspoon of thyme, salt and pepper.
  • Then pour in the Guinness and bring to the boil, stirring regularly.
  • Reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Reduce the sauce by half.
  • Place the meat on a baking tray and brush the chicken with the remaining sauce.
  • In your oven, in grill mode, broil for 7 minutes on each side, basting regularly with sauce.
  • Just serve hot with fries!
