Like many European countries, the Irish have their own drink during the Christmas season: “Hot Whiskey”. This is a tasty hot drink made from Irish whiskey, brown sugar, lemon, cloves and cinnamon. A kind of improved grog that is particularly user-friendly, to be tasted at the approach of Christmas!
Let it be said: Irish Hot Whiskey has some similarities with a punch… but with an irish touch in addition (the famous irish whiskey)! Simple and easy to make, it is the ideal beverage to warm up and spend the holidays in a warm atmosphere.
Of course, this toddy is to be consumed in moderation, but it is a real delight… It must be said that the spices remind us of the magic of Christmas, while the hot whiskey mixed with brown sugar make it a very pleasant alcohol in the mouth! Even better: according to the Irish, it would be a real remedy against colds!
Note that many local irish pubs offer them. Of course it is a bit expensive (from 7€), but it is then prepared in the best way, from the best whiskeys of the country!
