Born on March 17, 1991, Andrew Hozier-Byrne became passionate about music at the age of 15. Self-taught, he decided to take up piano and guitar and joined a soul band.

After studying music at St Gerard’s School, he entered Trinity College University in Dublin and joined the prestigious Trinity Orchestra, the official orchestra of the university. Very talented, he was quickly spotted by producers, and the artist then decided to interrupt his studies abruptly to record demos for Universal Music. He then had only one idea in mind: to break through and embark on a solo career.

In July 2013, Hozier made his first EP, entitled “Take Me To Church” on Bandcamp. Very committed, this EP features an eponymous single, where the musician denounces homophobia and intolerance. His deep voice, very close to Wood Kid’s, made his little effect with the critics. Moreover, the quality of his lyrics make him a real icon committed to the public.

Faced with success, he released his first studio album in September 2014, and went on to make a series of TV promos. Let’s wish him a long career!
