Cillian Murphy was born on May 25, 1976 in Cork, Ireland. While Cillian was passionate about music and comedy, he studied law at the University of Cork, before going into theatre and film.
He was then noticed to play in the film “28 Jours tard”, a zombie movie that earned him a first success. He then got small roles in big productions such as Return to Cold Mountain, Batman Begins, The Drak Knight…
But it was Ken Loach’s film “Le Vent se Lève” (The Wind is rising) that earned him the consecration thanks to his first role. Danny Boyle later invited him to play in his film Sunshine, which propelled him to fame as a world-famous actor.
